3) σύνταξη και υποβολή φορολογικών υποχρεώσεων
Ανάλογα με τη νομική τους μορφή, οι επιχειρήσεις υποχρεούνται να οριστικοποιούν όλες τις συναλλαγές τους κάθε μήνα ή τρίμηνο και τέλος του έτος. Οι αναφορές, που δημιουργούνται από το κλείσιμο εργασιών, παρέχουν μια εικόνα στη διοίκηση σχετικά με την οικονομική πορεία μιας επιχείρησης. Σε ορισμένες εταιρείες, η αξιολόγηση του τρέχοντος αποθέματος προϊόντων μπορεί να είναι μέρος της διαδικασίας κλεισίματος. Η ετήσια απογραφή και το κλείσιμο είναι μια διαδικασία εντατικής εργασίας, που απαιτεί επιπλέον ώρες απασχόλησης.
Ακόμα εναπόκειται στο λογιστήριο να ετοιμάσει τα έντυπα και να υποβάλει σωστά τη φορολογική δήλωση αξιοποιώντας παράλληλα τη φορολογική νομοθεσία. Η κακή εκτέλεση αυτών των καθηκόντων μπορεί να οδηγήσει σε έλεγχο και πρόστιμα.
