• Responsible for the optimum functioning of the Accounting Department.
• Ensuring that the department is always sufficiently manned, with capable employees, able to cope with their responsibilities.
• Advises the management by factual reporting / proposals when new requirements come inplace or improvements can be made, in close cooperation with the managing director.
• To be an exponent of a cooperative manager and to ensure that the cooperation with alldepartments are optimum.
• To mentor and coach all employees of the department, giving sufficient level ofempowerment to everyone.
• Keeps up to date with all relevant developments within his area of expertise.
• Ensure that the knowledge of the department members is sufficient and advise whentraining is necessary or desirable.
• Within the administrative organization and the central accounts of the organization, choice of master data for the administration and assessment of this master data on effectiveness and practicality.
• Test the registration and processing of accounting data to central directives.
• Think of solutions for accounting errors.
• Considering ways to improve the accuracy and timeliness of entries.
• Elaboration of the principles of cost allocation to a method that complies with prudential and accounting standards.
• Assess the integrity of planned payments and the authorization of payments to a certain limit by absence of the General Manager.
• Develop solutions for monitoring and promoting accuracy, lawfulness, completeness etc. for the AO / IC.
• Stimulate and promote management and managers to deliver their financial data and analyze of differences between realization and budget timely.
• Identify bottlenecks in planning and budgets.
• Check the office staff salaries and payment of social contributions and taxes, in close cooperation with the HR Department.
• Creating internal and external relations to improve timely delivery of data.Judging and selecting accounting figures for accountability, control information and tax returns.
• Responsible for all available funds, repayments of interest loans and other bank- and treasury related matters.
• Ensure sufficient cash flow to meet all current obligations of all vessels in management and its possible related companies.Providing management reports on financial issues and cash flow statements.
• Assessing the accounts on completeness and identifying missing or incorrect data.
• Ensure that only invoices approved by authorized staff are processed.
• Primary contact for payroll company.
• Accomplish the most efficient cash management possible.
• Map exchange rates and interest risks and employ financial instruments for limitation ofthese risks, within the scope of the management.
• Inform periodically the General Manager
• Assess the performance of the team members.

Minimal a Higher or intermediate Vocational Education, preferably in the field of business administration and economics.Minimal 5 years of experience in a (semi) managerial position within his/her field of function.Strong leadership and people management skills with a team-oriented approach.Exceptional communication skills in English.Excellent computer skills, Office, Excel,Good communication and commercial skills and excellent analytical skills.Well-organized, possesses proper planning skills, able to set clear priorities.

Experience within the Maritime industry.
