As a vital member of our Systems Engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of our system hardware, software, and related infrastructure. You'll contribute to technical research and development, continuously innovating our infrastructure while ensuring our systems adhere to organizational values and empower our staff, volunteers, and partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Optimize systems and networks for improved performance.
• Manage and respond to system emergencies, including debugging and troubleshooting live production systems.
• Automate routine tasks to boost system efficiency and minimize human error.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation for system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide high-level support for complex issues that the support team cannot resolve.
• Implement security policies and perform system hardening.
• Design scalable and reliable systems.

To excel in the role of System and Security Engineer, you should possess:

•  2+ years of hands-on experience in Systems Administration, DevOps, or Security Engineering.
• A BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field is a strong plus.
• Strong hands-on technical infrastructure skills on Servers (Linux).
• Linux security hardening knowledge.
• Experience working with virtualization technologies (VMWare).
• Proficiency in English.
• Experience working with secure code development guidelines and coding practices (i.e., OWASP, NIST).

• Strong attention to detail.
• Customer service orientation.
• Excellent communication skills and team working mentality.
• Comfortable with working in a fast-paced and creative environment.
• Pro-activeness, accountability, and results orientation.
• Hard-working attitude and willingness to commit to projects.

2+ years of hands-on experience in Systems Administration, DevOps, or Security Engineering.
