As a Senior PostgreSQL DBA, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Administer, maintain, and tune PostgreSQL databases.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for PostgreSQL deployments, updates, and configurations.
• Design, implement, and sustain robust high-availability, replication, and backup solutions utilizing tools such as Repmgr, Patroni, pgBackRest, and pgbouncer/pgpool; experience with extensions like TimescaleDB and PG vector is a plus.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related performance, capacity, and replication issues.
• Execute essential database upgrades and patching to achieve minimal service interruption.
• Enforce robust security best practices and maintain continuous monitoring to proactively detect and mitigate system vulnerabilities.

In order for your experience to match the Senior PostgreSQL DBA position, you need to have the following: 

• At least 4 years' of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA Engineer in a production environment (versions 14+).
• Strong experience in writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks for PostgreSQL deployments, updates, and configurations.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL performance and internals, including deep knowledge of WAL, autovacuum, indexing strategies, and proactive performance tuning.
• Experience with Scripting (preferably Bash, Python).
• Experience with backup/recovery (e.g., pgBackRest, Barman, Commvault) and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Dynatrace, pg_stat_statements).
• Experience with Linux system administration (Debian/Ubuntu or RHEL/CentOS).
• Experience with System administration (OS-DB tuning, VIP strategies, systemd logic).
• Experience with Kubernetes and PostgreSQL Operators is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is a plus.
• A PostgreSQL certification/course is a plus.
• A keen automation mindset supported by excellent attention to detail.
