The responsibilities of the Safety Health Environment & Security Leader:

  • Drive Safety Culture in South East Europe cluster and embed it in people hearts and minds.
  • Deploy the cluster SHE strategy, policy, and standards across the sites to achieve excellent sustainable results. Lead the respective community of practices.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in the region.
  • Work closely with Occupational Health personnel to identify and mitigate risks which relate to occupational health.
  • Develop and deploy internal SHE auditing and inspection systems, participate in audits of other Unilever organizations as required. 
  • Provide Safety leadership, support, advice and expertise to local Safety Committees and Site Leaders.
  • Partner and engage externally and internally to drive sustainability in value chain.
  • Help design and implement circular economy projects in the cluster.
  • Integrate Plastics (Zero/Better/Less) initiatives across the cluster.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation across the cluster sites.
  • Ensure security risk management, People Security and Asset protection.
  • Manage the physical security agenda of the country being the first point of contact for UL security department and local management.
  • Leads the incident (crisis) management committee for the cluster.


The ideal candidate for the Safety Health Environment & Security Leader position should have:

  • University degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Post-graduate degree in Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Sustainability will be considered a plus.
  • Qualifications required by local regulatory authorities will be considered a plus.

  • A strong desire for assuming increased responsibility, growth, and visibility.
