responsibilities

The Regulatory Manager we are looking for will manage activities for Greece and Cyprus for Bayer projects (local registrations and zonal evaluations for Southern Europe) in order to achieve and maintain registrations for Crop Science products in compliance with all national and regional Regulatory and Legal obligations, while ensuring the best possible registration conditions (i.e. GAP, classification) at the shortest possible time.

Key Accountabilities

  • Represent Bayer as a competent reliable partner to the local Authorities in assigned regulatory matters and build networks with national regulators, policy makers, local industry organizations and key opinion leaders.
  • Contribute actively to local Regulatory strategy in order to offer best solutions to the market and fast market launch by:
  1. Contributing to the definition of country GAP, to the harmonization of GAP's in the  Southern European Zone and communicating it to the responsible ERM’s (Region/HQ).
  2. Ensuring that regional development plans consider national requirements in Greece and Cyprus.
  3. Providing risk estimates as well as beneficiary opportunities.
  • Compile local submissions and monitor the submission status with the authorities, contribute to the preparation of answers to the Authorities or submission of comments in co-operation with Region/Global functions as needed. Negotiate with Authorities (Greece and Cyprus) on timelines for data calls as well as on additional requests to ensure the best result for Crop Science.
  • Actively contribute and implement zonal regulatory strategy on projects where Greece and (or) Cyprus is Zonal Rapporteur or Interzonal Rapporteur by planning, implementing and monitoring relevant activities. Ensure local Regulatory Compliance for all assigned products by submitting all relevant data and changes (GAP, labeling, composition, as well as new applications, line extensions, new indications, renewals, re-registrations etc.).
  • Assess major regulatory (i.e. NAP, horizontal legislation, new EU Guidance documents) or operational issues impacting the future approvals or the existing authorizations while proposing possible solutions to avoid or mitigate the impact.
  • Provide regulatory intelligence and closely monitor EU Regulation and national regulatory legislation evolution in Greece and Cyprus.
  • Ensure efficiency in the processes based on digital solutions already existing or to be improved/developed, as well as use digital tools to provide insights to support better decision making.

qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will be expected to have the following:

  • BSc in Agricultural Science, preferably with a major in Crop Protection Science.
  • A Master’s Degree or MBA will be considered an asset.
  • Fluency in Greek and English (both in written & verbal)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant role with a success track record in registration projects
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of specialized key scientific disciplines concerning regulatory profile evaluation, namely physical-chemical properties, analytical methods, residues, toxicology, e-fate, ecotoxicology.
  • Experience in compiling high-quality dossiers.
  • Familiar with Data Science process & tools.
  • Fully familiar with key Regulatory specific databases.
  • Excellent analytical & IT skills (including data management).
