The selected individual for the Quality Control Director position will be expected to supervise a team of personnel to ensure that incoming goods, products manufactured, labels printed, and outgoing shipments are sampled, inspected and released per the relevant SOPs. He/She will be required to promote continuous improvement whilst ensuring there is adherence to EU cGMP, SOPs and Policies.He/She will:

• Monitor, daily, the allocation of tasks to relevant QC personnel in line with business needs and customer expectations, arranging overtime as required and managing leave to ensure departmental KPIs are met.
• Maintain a regular presence on the floors to ensure supervisory oversight to monitor personnel performance, compliance with EU cGMP and general housekeeping within the facility.
• Review and approve EU cGMP documentation as detailed in the relevant procedures.
• Update the register of materials processed by Clinical Services by assessing Safety Data Sheets. Ensure products are suitability assessed before processing and that appropriate handling procedures are in place by identifying any hazards and controlling risks.
• Foster a positive environment within the team to promote staff development and facilitate team meetings.
• Coach and mentor personnel in the team providing advice and guidance to build on their competence and experience.
• Monitor output, quality and consistency of reporting staff and provide feedback regularly throughout the year and via the PMP process. 
• Ensure departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
• Demonstrate a positive approach to opportunities for improvement and be forthcoming with ideas / suggestions regarding process simplification and improved compliance.
• Assess queries quickly, ideally at the scene to determine the issue. Report /escalate serious / potentially serious breaches of GMP compliance or matters of concern to the QA Manager in an open and timely manner for appropriate resolution.
• Provide support to the Lead Investigators during the conduct of an investigation to enable them to perform a thorough root cause analysis.
• Ensure any CAPA / Follow-up items assigned to you or your direct reports are actioned in a timely manner or that an Addendum is submitted if it is not possible to complete in line with the target completion date.
• Perform any administrative duties associated with the role, as and when required.

The ideal candidate for the Quality Control Director position will be an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical sector with the desire to grow in an innovative and dynamic organization and must have:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or technical discipline and relevant experience in a GxP Quality Assurance role
• Previous experience within an established Quality System (e.g.,GMP, ISO)
• Proficient in the use of IT applications
• Able to organize, plan and prioritize task within a high volume and varied workload.
• Proven ability to be able to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team.
