This is a position of high responsibility with a primary focus on shaping and implementing the vision of the UX and Creative Design discipline. The Head of Service Design will be actively involved in materializing the strategic positioning of the company in the domestic and international Service Design scene. He/she will lead and direct the UX and Creative Design team to support the goals of the department by coordinating the execution of the day-to-day workload, and will also actively participate in the creation of successful Service Design solutions for the company’s customers in the areas of information architecture, usability research and interaction design.

As a Head of Service Design, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Direct, lead, coach, inspire and further develop the UX/UI Design team to deliver strategic, innovative end-to-end user experiences that inspire the end user and optimize user needs and business goals across desktop, web & mobile platforms. 
  • Mentor the team to work in a highly collaborative environment with a focus on strong creative thinking, UX leadership and decisions based on data and human interaction.
  • Support revenue and operational objectives while maintaining a constant focus on the customer.
  • Participate in customer site visits to present the UX offering to prospect customers and interact with customers to elicit usability requirements.
  • Maintain and further strengthen the companies’ reputation in digital design via the pursuit of achievements in domestic and international awards.
  • Manage multiple independent projects, delivering results within time and budget.
  • Monitor relevant emerging trends and technologies.
  • Define, develop and comply to actionable processes utilized by the UX/UI team to execute the overall digital strategy.
  • Make data driven design decisions by working with analytics and customer insight to ensure all UX decisions are made based on customer behavior. Implement findings into User Experience solutions.
  • Interface internally with the Project Management team to ensure the timely and qualitative delivery of the relevant workload. 
  • Build and test user interface designs that meet the expectations of the stakeholders.
  • Cooperate with Product Managers and Technology stakeholders to identify critical customer needs, challenges, and insights.
  • Interact with the Management to ensure the constant alignment with the defined strategy. 


We would expect from the Head of Service Design to have the following skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of UX analysis & design experience. Strong understanding of information architecture and user-centered design methodology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing UX resources and strategy, with proven interest in UX issues. Proven success in building teams, goal setting, coaching, & developing individuals to achieve targeted results.
  • Proven creative thinking and passion for modern aesthetics.
  • Ability to incorporate research, strategy and analytics into design decisions.
  • Proven success in designing and optimizing transactional websites and applications.
  • Demonstrated success in leading agile UX design opportunities from concept to successful launch/implementation.
  • Strong understanding of the values rapid prototyping, concept diagrams, user scenarios, wireframes, flows and experience maps.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams across the organization including Sales, Project Managers, Client Services and the Executive Team.
  • Strategic/analytical thinking, communication, problem solving, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to frame the problems, identify solutions, and move the team forward.

Specific Service Design Skills - proven experience in leading and executing the following:

  • Conduct usability research including contextual research, stakeholder interviews, user testing, card sorting, tree testing
  • Study the existing Information Architecture of a website or app and modify it according to the needs of the project. Be able to justify the rationale behind the changes.
  • Analyze findings to provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders and team members in a clear and concise format. 
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to identify generative research and product validation opportunities. 
  • Identify and create personas and journey maps based on UX research data and become a subject matter expert on our customer segments and products. 
  • Produce low-fidelity prototyping and other lean UX techniques to rapidly validate and refine product concepts and designs.

Specific UI Design Skills:

  • Proficient use of Design and UX software such as Sketch, Invision, Adobe suite and Axure. 
  • Deep knowledge of design principles across web and mobile platforms, including typography, iconography and color.
  • Proven success in designing for web and mobile (responsive/adaptive designs in browser and native app – iOS and Android). 
  • Strong understanding of UX interaction principles and design patterns.
