The selected individual for the Head of Production position will be expected to:

• Monitor the allocation of tasks to relevant production personnel in line with business needs and customer expectations, to ensure departmental KPIs are met.
• Maintain a regular presence in each operation to ensure supervisory oversight to monitor compliance with EU cGMP, company’s SOPs and general housekeeping within the Production areas. 
• Act as the process owner and be responsible for all activities / issues within an operation.
• Maximize efficiency through successful time management and the ability to prioritize daily activities independently.
• Monitor output, quality and consistency of reporting staff and provide feedback regularly throughout the year and via Anthera’s assessment process.
• Ensure production analysis details are completed promptly and accurately as soon as possible during and on completion of an operation.
• Act as a Production representative on assigned business projects, providing advice and guidance from a Production perspective, ensuring a positive approach to continuous improvement.
• Assist in the delivery of factory tours for customer visits or audits.
• Apply problem-solving skills to a wide range of issues and act in a Production advisory capacity. In doing so interact with relevant departments to address issues.
• Attend teleconferences/meetings/customer visits, as required, representing the Production department.
• Provide data as required for customer meetings in relation to Production activities.
• Review and approve EU cGMP documentation as detailed in the relevant procedures.
• Work to a consistently high standard, even when under pressure. React to requests (inside & outside of department) in a timely manner.
• Fulfil any necessary administrative duties associated with the role, as and when required.

The ideal candidate for the Head of Production position will be an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical sector with the desire to grow in an innovative and dynamic organization and must have:

• BSc (or equivalent) in a Life Science related discipline, as required in the provision of case
• Significant working experience in a pharmaceutical development, manufacturing or testing environment, ideally a CMO.
• Experience managing a team of people (scientists / operators) involved in the manufacture of drug product.
• Experience of resource utilisation planning.
• Experience in dealing with technical topics related to
• scientific data.
• Experience of data acquisition, trending and analysis and the development of KPIs.
• Experience of sharing information with senior management to drive data driven decisions.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
• Experience of investigating product / process deficiencies, compiling deviation reports and presenting findings to internal stakeholder and clients.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry initiatives such as the use of Quality Risk Management tools in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, data integrity requirements etc.
