A great opportunity for senior Big Data Engineers (Python) just landed! What's in for you? The position is full time and permanent, based in Athens' northern suburbs. It reports to the Director of Software Engineering and contributes to the development of a Telecom Analytics platform with involvement in big data analytics.

responsibilities

As a Big Data Engineer (Python), your tasks will be to:

  • participate in the software design and implementation of company's analytics platform, developing & testing modular, reusable, efficient and scalable code
  • use, customise and deploy open-source software development tools
  • document software design and functionality
  • develop and plan quality assurance tests
  • follow agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum), object-oriented programming principles and test-driven development

requirements

In order for your profile to match the Big Data Engineer (Python) position, you need to have the following skills:

  • Bsc in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering or relevant field
  • 4+ years of experience in python (or java) development
  • professional working background in big data and analytics
  • strong understanding and experience in distributed computing frameworks, particularly Apache Spark (Spark SQL / streaming) and associated technologies, e.g. Hadoop
  • experience working in a Linux environment, including knowledge of shell/Python scripting for automating common tasks
  • soft skills: team player, self-motivated and willing to take initiative & ownership
  • fluency in both english, greek
