As an Operations Naval Engineer Manager your duties will include the following:

  • Monitoring vessels’ movements (performance, repairs, reporting) daily and attending vessels (periodically sails on-board) to ensure that technical condition of all machinery and equipment is according to company’s standards
  • Vessels’ engineering supervision (organizing/ implementation of  courses of action for  technical matters arising onboard)
  • Coordination & monitoring of works / repairs/ deliveries of new acquisitions.
  • Vessels’ inspections (attendance reports), monitoring of crew performance (compliance with management policies, international, state and local Maritime regulations), providing training & technical advice to shipboard personnel. Ensuring all procedures are adhered to and comply with International safety management (ISM), classification society rules, and Maritime insurance
  • Implementation of ERP system onboard vessels 
  • Cooperation with on-board personnel and mainly the Chief Engineer, so as to ensure that assigned vessels are operating in a safe, reliable and efficient manner (maintains a close knowledge of the maintenance status, condition and operation of assigned vessels).
  • Dealing with any damage repairs or modifications, preserving the vessels commercial competence and originating long-term corrective actions, in order to avoid reoccurrence. Monitors all technical problems, major defects and follows-up, until corrective action is verified.
  • Implementation effectively preventive maintenance of ship’s hull, main machinery, deck machinery, etc., as described in the PMS and set by Class/Flag State requirements.
  • All other normal superintendency duties, including budgeting and purchasing requirements.


As an Operations Naval Engineer Manager in this role, you must have the following requirements:

  • Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering degree
  • Extensive industry experience developed in a Shipyard, Design, Consultancy or Shipping company 
  • 5-7 years of onshore experience as Superintendent Engineer
  • New building experience
  • 2 years Sea service in bulk carriers  will be considered as an extra asset
  • Strong IT skills (implementation of ERP system onboard vessels) 
  • Experience in application of new technologies on board vessels 
  • Strong and proven negotiating and trouble-shooting skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in Greek and English
  • Proficiency in MS Office
