The responsibilities of the Legal & Corporate Affairs Counsel include:

• Manage legal and contractual aspects, support the functions concerned in the preparation and negotiation of commercial contracts, managing legal disputes
• End-to-end handling of corporate law issues
• Management of relations with judicial authorities (judicial authority requests, execution of Merchant credit blocks for foreclosures requested by judicial authorities)
• Providing consulting to all internal functions on issues of a legal nature
• Advising on the regulatory and legislative framework applicable to the business operations with emphasis on payment services, consumer protection and data protection legislation (in collaboration with Compliance Department) 
• Handling and representing the company at proceedings before courts and authorities, claims management at pre-judicial stage 
• Managing relations with external law firms and notary firms
• Defining and updating, in collaboration with the functions concerned, standard commercial contracts with customers and suppliers
• Drafting and reviewing, in collaboration with the functions concerned, ad hoc client or supplier contracts for specific cases
• Supporting the functions concerned in the negotiation of company contracts, participating actively, where necessary, in the negotiation
• Review of RFP terms; highlighting main issues of legal/regulatory concerns and risks; supporting Bid Management at collecting documentation and drafting specific clauses/disclosures/disclaimers deemed appropriate
• Advising on and supporting different types of extraordinary transactions (company incorporation; merger; winding down/dissolution process) 
• Drawing up of the Company’s powers of attorney and proxies
• Support on general legal issues regarding company’s real estate and leases

The ideal candidate for the Legal & Corporate Affairs Counsel should have:

• Fully Greek lawyer qualification
• Strong academic record
• Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
• Familiarity with Payment Services, Data Protection Law, Consumer Protection and IT/IP Law
• Excellent command of the English language, including a demonstrated skill to draft and negotiate legal documents in English

• Excellent negotiation skills
• Ability to work in teams and individually

• Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in the payments industry 

• University degree
