Are you an experienced Finance Executive ready for the next step for your career? Do you think that taking more responsibilities will be an attractive challenge for you? If so, this could be the ideal role for you. We are seeking a Finance Manager to have overall responsibility for the finance function, on behalf of our client a multinational company, in the a "aviation services" industry.


As a Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Management, training, development of a team of 2 qualified accountants and one apprentice.
  • Business partnering with Operations Management
  • Accurate and timely reporting of month end Greek numbers.
  • Identifying and recording financial risks and opportunities within the Greek environment.
  • Oversight of half year and full year reporting to Group.
  • Statutory Accounts preparation and filing for all Greek entities.
  • Communication with external auditors, providing information in relation to statutory accounts.
  • Management of internal auditor requests.
  • Oversight of cash recovery through Sales Ledger ageing reviews.
  • Supporting the FP&A team in generating budgets and forecasts
  • Month end cash flow analysis.
  • Co-ordination with the EMEA Financial Controller on Group Reporting activities and ad hoc projects.
  • Perform/review Balance Sheet reconciliations (monthly).
  • Preparation and submission of the company’s tax filings including; vat, payroll taxes, business activity tax.
  • Control over VAT treatment on Greek sales invoices, including record keeping and responding to customer queries.
  • Signing Fiscal invoices for Greece
  • Preparation and review of payroll (monthly). Accounting posting of payroll. Management of payroll returns.
  • Administeringemployee recruitment, resignations and redundancies. Submitting necessaryforms to the Labor Inspection Corps and the relevant employment institute.
  • Support AccountsReceivable Reconciliations
  • Oversight ofcompany secretarial function activities.
  • Support accountingentries into the accounting system (Fixed Assets/Current Assets/CurrentLiabilities).
  • Particular focuson reconciling and making postings for the bank reconciliation.
  • Oversight ofPetty Cash.
  • Oversight of openingnew supplier and customer accounts in the accounting system.


As the ideal candidate for the Finance Manager position, you need to have the following skills:

  • Qualified accountant, preferably first time passes, with IFRS experience and a minimum of 4 years PQE.
  • A self-starter who demonstrates ownership of the tasks and objectives of the department
  • Excellent analytical skills. Ability to interpret data to give the overall picture whilst checking for accuracy.
  • Proven experience in managing a team and ensuring a high level of engagement.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage expectations and work to tight deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and delegation skills.
  • Fast learner, able to apply skill set to new scenarios.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Confident with Sage. SAP skills are desirable.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to clearly explain financial information to both financial and non-financial populations.
  • Excellent team player.
  • A clear risk focus with previous experience of implementing and reviewing internal controls.
